It doesn’t take a genius to notice Dublin Streets hasn’t been at the top of our agenda – we’ve been busy moving countries back to Canada and planning a year out travelling, so neither of us are actually in Dublin! While this plays into part of the reason we’re putting our baby on hold, it’s not the only reason.
When we started Dublin Streets, we were very idealistic about showcasing a different side of the city. We were sick of perma-tanned blondes wearing glitzy diamante dresses getting all the kudos for style in Dublin. We wanted to create somewhere to show off how great the city was and the actual amazing style Dublin had to offer. We think we did what we initially came to do.
When we started out, it was a challenge to find subjects outside of the Bernard Shaw car boot sale. As the blog developed, so did Dublin’s style. We’re happy to have been there while it was happening.
We’ve taken the very mature (and sad) step and decided to put Dublin Streets on hold until we have the time to dedicate to doing all the things we want to. We’ll definitely be back someday, maybe not in the same guise but there’s still so much we want to do, it would be a shame not to give it a go!
Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Dublin, we love you. xx
